General Contest Rules
I. WHO MAY ENTER.All B105 contests are open to any/all B105 listeners who are legal U.S. residents living or working in the B105 listening area unless otherwise specified by B105 and its affiliates.
Only one (1) qualifier or winner per family/household within any 30 day period. Once a person wins a contest, he/she is no longer eligible to win that contest, or any other contest, within the 30 day time period. The decision of B105 is final.
Contests are open to all individuals, 18 years of age or older. All employees of Centennial Broadcasting II, LLC, members of their families, employees of Centennial Broadcasting II, LLC’s advertising agencies and members of their families, and employees of other radio stations are ineligible. If a winner’s ineligibility is determined after winning, any prizes must be forfeited.
Winners under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Both individuals must sign an affidavit/release prior to the receipt of the prize.
All contestants acknowledge, as a condition of entry, that B105 has the right to publicize and/or broadcast his/her name, character, likeness, voice, or all matters incidental here-in.
All contest statutes and provisions of the State of Virginia and the U.S. Federal Government, including the Federal Communications Commission restrictions, apply to this contest.
All contest entries become the property of B105 .
Phone calls made by B105 personnel may be recorded and, after receiving an individual’s permission, aired; likewise, individuals contacted in person may be recorded with their permission. WINNER’S CONVERSATIONS MAY BE BROADCAST PERIODICALLY ON B105 . ALL WINNERS AGREE TO GRANT B105 PERMISSION TO BROADCAST THE CONVERSATION AND FURTHER AGREE TO IDENTIFY THEMSELVES, AND THEIR CITY OF RESIDENCE. Likewise, all winners grant B105 permission to broadcast their name, city of residence, and their cash and prize winnings as part of live and recorded promotional announcements on B105 and publicity in other media, including TV and newspapers.
When winners call in for a contest, they may be asked to say a certain phrase such as “I listen to B105 at least two hours every day.”
Additions or deletions to these rules and addendum (if any) are subject to the discretion of B105, and may be enacted at any time.
B105, its agencies, affiliates, sponsors, or representatives absolve themselves of any liability, financial or otherwise, resultant of any “on” or “off” air contest staged by B105 .
III. PHONE ENTRY
In the event that two telephone lines are tied together during a phone-in contest, the entire phone call will be disqualified and another phone call will be taken.
B105 cannot award duplicate prizes to both parties in a “tied-together” situation. An example of a tied-together call may be two telephone calls originating from the same location or residence, or a party line.
In case of a dispute over telephone lines, the decision of B105 is final.
Winners must sign a release prior to the receipt of a prize. If the prize is valued at $600.00 or over, winners are ineligible to compete for ninety (90) days; if the prize is valued under $600.00 they are ineligible for thirty (30) days.
Any contest cash winner receiving in excess of $600 will receive a #1099 form for Federal and State tax declaration of prize. Winners are obligated to pay their taxes on the amount of their winnings. Winners understand and agree that they are responsible for any/all taxes incurred on prizes received valued at $600 or more.
All prizes, unless otherwise specified, must be picked up within two weeks (14 days) of winning or will be mailed at the winners request; however New Country B105 does not claim responsibility for the prize once it enters into the United States Postal Service.
B105 may, due to unavailability of prizes, substitute another prize of equal value.
Prizes valued under $25.00 or less may be mailed. All other prizes must be claimed in person unless otherwise specified. Proper identification required (valid drivers license, passport, state id, or military id).
Designated Representatives: In very unique situations, designated representatives will be allowed to accept prizes. Written authorization from the winner is required. Letter must include representative’s name, ID, social security number, and a photocopy of the WINNER’S driver’s license. B105 will determine what constitutes a “unique situation”.
B105 is not responsible for defective prizes.
All prizes are non-transferable, void where prohibited by law.
B105 is not responsible for providing lists of prizewinners.
V. COPY OF RULES.
These official contest rules are available for review at the B105 office during regular business hours Monday through Friday. The rules are also available by mail, by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope to:
